At « La maison des musiques »
On Saturday, the 19th of November, 24 members of the Belgian Screen Composers Guild had their first workshop in Brussels, at “La Maison des Musiques”.
The topic was the relation between the producer, the director and the score composer.
A very interesting debate was conducted by Hugo Lippens and gave the opportunity to Eloi Ragot (La Trêve), Michel Bisceglia (Marina) and Frédéric Vercheval (Pas Son Genre) to explain the way they did work on recent productions.
A few sandwiches later, Hughes Maréchal showed the result of a survey about the earnings of the composer.
It was the starting point of a rich discussion about salary, rights, and the different way film music composers can earn a living.
Everyone was very happy about the day, the next workshop will be awaited.
